Horses Help to Reduce Anxiety and Stress
As a massage therapist and Reiki Master, I specialize in reducing mental anxiety & stress trapped in the body. I teach meditation classes at my office in town. However, I've found that most people struggle with traditional meditation. Being around horses makes it easier to breathe deeply and relax, to become mindful and present, and control our emotions. During work with the horses, we specifically tap into the energetic presence of horses to decrease stress and provide faster relief. We use horses because they are naturally “grounded,” live in the present, and have a huge energy field due to their size. Horses can help people identify and overcome the challenges they face when trying to meditate or just relax. When we meditate, we become horse like in that we mimic their natural ability to breathe and relax. Being around them requires us to be aware of our senses, thoughts, and actions (we become mindful)
After reading research demonstrating the effectiveness of interaction with horses for veterans (or anyone) suffering from trauma or high stress, I realized I had something uniquely powerful to help my clients accelerate their healing and reduce their stress. My gentle horses are the perfect partners to work with me and my clients. Other people have also found that horses help people provide powerful insight for tangible personal change (i.e. better communication, improved leadership, improved emotional control, etc.) and learning. These activities called Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) and Equine Assisted Learning (EFL).
I am now offering equine assisted classes and workshops for stress reduction, meditation, team building, and becoming the best human being possible by "energizing your potential," at a beautiful farm in Paint Rock Valley, AL.
